One of the most abused and misused tools given to homeowners association boards and their professional advisors is the power to foreclose on homeowners.  I find the practice to be particularly distasteful and barbaric and see no sane reason to allow it to continue.  So far the eyes of the nation have focused primarily on Houston, Texas but other states have their fair share of unconscionable cases as well.   On The Commons with me this week is Ralph Blevins.  Ralph and his wife lost their almost mortgage free $90,000 townhouse when their neighbors sold it on the court house steps for $3,000.  You'll have to tune in for all the details of the case but Ralph tells me they were never even late with an assessment check.    Download Ralph Blevins
