The Founders envisioned a life free from undue restrictions and draconian laws for the citizens of this new land, promising them a "government of the people, by the people and for the people". As time went on, instead of jealously guarding their rights, the "people" took them for granted. And gradually the balance of power shifted away from the "people" to those who govern. These changes are evident in our every day lives, from the front steps of our homes all the way to the courtrooms, where we have long believed that our rights would be protected. Are we destined to continually lose what is rightfully ours or can "We The People" make the necessary changes that would take up back to what the Founders had in mind?

On The Commons this week is Gary Zerman. Gary is an attorney from Southern California who said that once he left law school and started practicing the law, his real education started. He is also involved with the South Dakota Judicial Accountability (SDJA). Their web address is  which is part of the Judicial Accountability Initiative Law (J.A.I.L.). Please tune in to On The Commons. We'll learn more about what is happening in the courts and what "We, The People" can do about it.  Download Gary Zerman
